Fuel briquettes are compressed without binders from wood waste (sawdust, wood chips). Lignin fixes the shape. Two main types: RUF (rectangular brick, hydraulic press) and Pini-Kay (cylinder with a hole, screw press). Calorific value 4.5–5.5 kWh/kg. Burning time of one load 2–4 hours. Ash content 0.5–1%. Moisture up to 10%. An alternative to firewood and coal for stoves, fireplaces, barbecues. Compact storage. Packaging of 10 kg in shrink film. Standard EN ISO 17225-3. RUF production: hydraulic press creates pressure of 300–400 bar. Raw materials are dry sawdust and wood chips (moisture ≤12%). Lignin contained in wood softens at pressure and heating up to 70–80°C and binds the particles. No chemical additives are used. Density 1000–1200 kg/m³. Pini-Kay production: screw extruder pushes raw material through a conical die at a temperature of 200–250°C. The surface melts (dark glossy crust), an axial hole is formed inside for better draft. Density 1100–1300 kg/m³. Comparison: RUF is simpler and cheaper to produce, Pini-Kay burns longer and more beautifully (fireplace effect). Both types are stored in a dry place — when wet, they swell and crumble. Export markets: Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland — the fireplace heating market). Packaging: packages of 10 kg in shrink film, pallets of 96 packages (960 kg). Export documentation: EN ISO 17225-3 certificate, phytosanitary certificate.
