Vegetable waste and pulp are by-products of the food industry used as feed raw materials for farm animals. Beet pulp is a by-product of sugar production (after sugar extraction from beets). Dried (moisture 10–14%), pelleted. Contains fiber 18–22%, protein 8–10%, pectins. A primary bulky feed for cattle and horses. Russia is the largest producer (over 3 million tons of raw pulp/year). Apple pomace is from apple pressings (after juice production), for cattle and pigs, fresh or dried. Brewer's spent grain is from breweries. Grape marc is for feed and fertilizers.
