Rapeseed meal is a feed product from oil extraction production of rapeseed seeds. Protein content 32–38% on a dry matter basis. Well-balanced in amino acids — methionine content is higher than in soybean meal. Modern '00' type rapeseed varieties with low glucosinolate content (<25 µmol/g) and erucic acid (<2%) remove previous restrictions on inclusion in animal diets. Especially effective for cattle. GOST 30257-95. Packaging: bulk, big bags, pelleted. Meal is a by-product of oil extraction production: after extracting oil from seeds using an organic solvent (hexane), a defatted mass with high protein content remains. Toasting (heat treatment at 105–110°C) removes solvent residues and inactivates anti-nutritional factors. Fed to all types of farm animals, mainly as part of compound feeds. Contains vitamin E and B vitamins, rich in phosphorus, poor in calcium and sodium — requires balancing with mineral supplements. Packaging: bulk (loose), pelleted (diameter 6–12 mm), in 1-ton big bags, polypropylene bags 30–50 kg. Shipment: grain trucks, railway hoppers, road transport.
