Pine Sawn Board (Edged)
Edged board made from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) is a structural lumber obtained by sawing logs with all four edges processed. There is no wane, and the surface is smooth. The straight-grained structure of pine provides a bending strength of 70–80 MPa with a moderate density of 500–520 kg/m³. Natural resin content enhances resistance to decay. Sorting is performed according to GOST 8486-86 — five grades (select, 1, 2, 3, 4), distinguished by the number of knots, cracks, and warping. Surface roughness is standardized according to GOST 7016: up to 1250 µm for grades 1–3, up to 1600 µm for the fourth. Nominal cross-sectional dimensions are regulated by GOST 24454-80. Typical sections: thickness 25, 30, 40, 50 mm; width 100, 120, 150, 200 mm; length 3000–6000 mm. Kiln drying (KD) to a moisture content of 8–12% and natural moisture up to 22% are available. Antiseptic treatment according to GOST 10950 extends service life in contact with soil and atmosphere. Application: frame construction, roof truss system and sheathing, load-bearing structures, joinery blanks, interior cladding. Wood is harvested in the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kirov, and Irkutsk regions — areas where northern pine forms a dense, fine-layered structure with increased strength characteristics. Packaging: packs on spacers, strapped with steel/PET tape, shrink film. Shipment: railway platforms, 20/40 ft containers, road transport. Minimum order from 40 m³. Export documentation: phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, specification. Compared to spruce, pine has a more pronounced texture and higher resin content, providing natural protection against moisture and biological damage.
