Medicinal plant raw materials (MPRM) are dried parts of wild-growing and cultivated plants used in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries. Russia possesses unique biodiversity: over 600 species of medicinal plants, with more than 150 being harvested industrially. The main types include: chamomile (flowers), peppermint (leaves), valerian (roots), motherwort (herb), St. John's wort (herb), rosehip (fruits), calendula (flowers), echinacea (roots and herb), licorice (roots), birch buds, pine buds, chaga (birch fungus). Harvesting regions: Altai, Krasnodar Krai, Bashkiria, Central Russia. Forms of supply: whole raw material (in bales/bags), cut and pressed, crushed, powdered.
