Curly flax seeds (Linum usitatissimum var. intermedia) are sowing material for oilseed flax. A branched, low-growing variety cultivated for its seeds (oil content 42–50%). Unlike long-fiber flax, it is not used for fiber. Varieties: VNIIMK 620 (high-oil), Severny, Rucheyok, Fliz. Germination ≥85%, purity 99%+. 1000-seed weight 5–7 g. Regions: Western Siberia, Volga region, Southern Federal District, Central Federal District. GOST 9668-75. Curly flax (oilseed) differs from long-fiber flax: height 30–50 cm (vs 70–120 cm), branched stem with multiple bolls, oil content 42–50% (vs 30–35%). Fiber is unsuitable for textiles. Russia is one of the world's largest producers of oilseed flax (over 1 million tons annually). Regions: Western Siberia (Omsk, Novosibirsk), Volga region, Southern Federal District, Central Federal District. Sowing: April–May, harvesting: August–September. FGBNU VNIIMK (Krasnodar) is the main originator of oilseed varieties. Imported varieties: Abacus (Czech Republic), Bilton (Netherlands). 1000-seed weight 5–7 g. Seeding rate 7–8 million viable seeds/ha. Export documentation: variety quality certificate, phytosanitary certificate. Storage: dry, ventilated warehouses with temperature and humidity control.
