Industrial wood chips for the pulp and paper industry are shredded wood with a fraction of 5–50 mm, free from rot and bark. Produced from sawmill waste using chipping machines with subsequent sorting by fractional composition on a vibrating screen. Application: sulfate pulp cooking, production of particleboard, MDF, OSB. Control of bulk density and moisture (40–55%). GOST 15815-83. Delivery by railway wagons. Quality control of chips at the pulp mill reception: fractional composition (screening on a vibrating screen — conditioned fraction 5–25 mm ≥80%), bark content (≤3%), rot content (≤3%), mineral impurities (≤0.5%), moisture (40–55%). Sources of industrial wood chips: sawmill waste (slabs, trimmings, battens), woodworking waste (plywood trimmings, MDF blanks), targeted harvesting (chipping of pulpwood). Logistics: chip trucks (body volume 80–120 m³), railway gondola cars. Bulk density 250–350 kg/m³. Storage: open areas with drainage, control of self-heating (temperature in the stack ≤60°C).
