Hot Melt Adhesives (Hot Melt) are thermoplastic adhesives applied in molten form (120–200°C) and setting upon cooling within 1–30 seconds. Base materials: EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), polyolefins, polyamides, polyurethanes (PUR). Applications: cardboard packaging (boxes, trays), labeling, bookbinding, woodworking (edge banding), automotive (trim), hygiene products (diapers, pads). Equipment: adhesive applicator heads, roller systems, glue guns. Forms: granules, pillows, blocks. PUR (reactive Hot Melt) — premium: after application, it crosslinks with ambient moisture, gaining heat resistance (up to 120–150°C) and chemical resistance. Does not remelt — irreversible curing. For furniture edging, automotive trim, footwear. Equipment: PUR guns with heating. Storage: moisture protection (aluminum packaging). Shelf life: 12 months.
