Molding sand binders are binding compositions for the production of foundry molds and cores in metallurgical casting. Sand-clay (bentonite) binders: for cast iron — bentonite + quartz sand + water + carbonaceous additives. Cold-setting binders (CSB): resin (furan, phenolic, epoxy) + catalyst — curing at 20°C without heating. Applications: precision casting of steel and aluminum (CSB), mass casting of cast iron (bentonite). Regeneration of spent sand — material savings up to 90%. Packaging: 25 kg bags, drums, IBC containers. Cold Box process: sand mixture + furan/phenolic resin (1–2%) + acid catalyst → curing at 20°C in 5–30 min. Mold strength 3–6 MPa. Knockout property — the mold collapses after metal pouring (thermal degradation of the binder). Sand regeneration: thermal (calcination at 800°C) or mechanical (scrubbing). Documentation: TDS, quality certificate, MSDS.
