Flax seeds (Linum usitatissimum) are one of the oldest crops with an exceptionally valuable composition, known as one of the best plant sources of Omega-3 fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid — up to 22g per 100g, surpassing fish oil). Flax seeds contain lignans (phytoestrogens with antioxidant activity — 800 times more than any other plant product), soluble fiber (mucilage), protein (18%), vitamins B1, B6, folic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese. Brown flax seeds are the classic variety, with a more pronounced nutty flavor. For bread baking, porridge, smoothies, production of flaxseed flour and oil.
