Fire retardant coatings are specialized paints and coatings that provide fire resistance for metal and wooden structures. When heated to 200–300°C, the coating intumesces (swells): it expands in volume by 10–50 times, forming an insulating char layer. For steel: thin-layer (0.5–3 mm) intumescent paints provide fire resistance ratings of R30–R120 (time to retain load-bearing capacity during a fire). For wood: impregnations (Fire Protection Efficiency Groups I and II according to NPB 251-98) and coatings (transfer wood to the hardly flammable group G1/B1). Certification: MES fire safety certificate, VNIIPO conclusion. Coating thickness control: magnetic thickness gauge (for steel). GOST R 53295-2009 (steel), GOST R 53292-2009 (wood). Packaging: buckets 15–25 kg, drums 200 kg. Quality control of fire protection: measurement of dry film thickness with a magnetic thickness gauge per every 10 m² of surface. For steel: minimum thickness depends on the reduced metal thickness (R.M.T.) — the thinner the structure, the thicker the coating (table in TDS). Coating service life: 10–25 years (with a weather-resistant topcoat). Documentation: MES fire safety certificate, VNIIPO conclusion, TDS, MSDS, certificate of concealed works. Storage: dry enclosed warehouses, temperature 5–25°C. Deliveries across Russia and for export. Certification and technical support.
