Feed wheat (Class 5 according to GOST 9353-2016) is grain that does not meet the standards for food classes and is intended for feed purposes. The content of protein and gluten is not standardized. Reasons for classification as Class 5: low gluten, high falling number, sprouted grain, high impurity content. Metabolisable energy 13.0–13.5 MJ/kg — higher than barley and oats. Starch 60–65%. The basis of compound feeds for broilers (up to 60% of the diet) and fattening pigs (up to 40%). Fine grinding increases starch digestibility. Moisture ≤14%. Grain in healthy condition — free from pest infestation, without musty or moldy odor. Shipment: grain trucks, hoppers, vessel lots. Price is 15–25% lower than food-grade Class 4. Russia exports feed wheat to the Middle East and Southeast Asia for the compound feed industry.
