De-icing reagents (anti-icing reagents) are chemical compositions used to combat ice and snow-ice deposits on roads, sidewalks, and airport pavements. Mechanism: lowering the freezing point of water. Chloride-based: NaCl (technical salt, effective down to -12°C), CaCl₂ (down to -34°C, exothermic effect), MgCl₂ (down to -33°C, less aggressive to concrete). Carbamide-based (urea) — for airports (does not corrode aluminum). Acetates (KAc, NaAc) — premium, for bridges and overpasses. Form: granules, flakes, solution. GOST 33387-2015. Packaging: 25 kg bags, 1-ton big bags, tanker trucks (solution). Consumption depends on temperature and ice thickness: NaCl 20–60 g/m² (down to -12°C), CaCl₂ 30–100 g/m² (down to -34°C). Environmental restrictions: chlorides increase soil and water salinity — some countries are switching to acetates and formates. Storage: dry, enclosed warehouses (hygroscopic). Documentation: safety data sheet, certificate of conformity GOST 33387. Bulk deliveries by road and rail transport.
