Confectionery Sunflower Seeds (Large Kernel) are large, striped seeds for direct consumption, roasting, and the confectionery industry. Caliber ≥10 mm. Oil content is lower than that of oilseed varieties (35–42%), the kernel is large and easy to hull. Application: roasted seeds (snack), halva, kozinaki, confectionery kernels. Moisture up to 8%. Husk content no more than 24%. GOST 22391-2015. Confectionery sunflower differs from oilseed sunflower: large grain (caliber ≥10 mm), striped coloration, thick husk (easy to hull by hand), large white kernel, reduced oil content (35–42% vs 44–52%). Varieties: Lakomka, Oreshek, Djinn, SPK. Hybrids are not used — consumers prefer varietal seeds (stable taste). Roasted sunflower seeds are one of the largest snack markets in Russia (>200 thousand tons/year). Roasting: drum roasters, temperature 150–170°C, 15–20 min. Sunflower kernel: for halva (50–60% of recipe), kozinaki, confectionery toppings, salad toppings. Packaging: polypropylene bags 25–50 kg, big bags 1 ton. Storage: dry warehouses, ≤20°C.
