Coated paper is paper with a coating of kaolin, chalk, latex to improve whiteness, smoothness, and print quality. The foundation of printing. Glossy (gloss 70–80%): for magazines, catalogs, covers. Matte (gloss <30%): for books, brochures, art publications. Semi-matte (silk): a compromise. Basis weight 80–350 g/m². Coated label paper: one-side coated, adapted for die-cutting and adhesive layer application. Wet-strength for beverages in ice water. Manufacturers: Syktyvkar LPK, Kondopoga, Svetogorsk, APP, UPM. Format: rolls or sheets 700×1000, 640×900 mm. GOST 21444-75. Coated paper for printing: C2S (coated two sides) — for brochures and leaflets. C1S (coated one side) — for covers and cardboard packaging. Grades per ISO 12647-2: type 1 (glossy), type 2 (matte), type 3 (LWC — light-weight coated). Label paper: adhesive side (wet-glue for beer labels, self-adhesive for thermal transfer printing). Wet-strength: withstands ice water for 72 hours without peeling. Documentation: quality certificate, FSC/PEFC certificate.
