Cast Iron Products (Manhole Covers, Gratings, Tunnel Segments)
Cast iron castings are products made from gray cast iron (SCh15–SCh30) and high-strength cast iron (VCh40–VCh60, ductile iron). Manhole covers: GOST 3634-2019, load classes A15 (sidewalk, 15 kN) – D400 (roadway, 400 kN). High-strength cast iron VCh50 — does not crack, withstands impact loads. Drainage gratings: slot-type and cell-type. Tunnel segments — cast iron lining segments for subway tunnels (VCh40–VCh50). Grate bars — for boilers and furnaces. Valve bodies, fittings. Production: sand casting, die casting, centrifugal casting (pipes). Processing: shot blasting, machining, painting with bitumen varnish (manhole covers) or epoxy enamel. High-strength cast iron VCh50 (ISO 1083 EN-GJS-500-7) — ductile, does not shatter upon impact. Gray cast iron SCh20 — brittle, cheaper, for non-load-bearing products. Manhole cover processing: shot blasting, priming, painting with bitumen varnish or epoxy enamel (RAL 7024 graphite gray). Installation: on cement mortar or on a metal frame.
