BOPP film (biaxially oriented polypropylene) is a highly transparent, glossy film with high tensile strength and barrier properties. It is the base material for flexible packaging. Production: extrusion of PP granules → flat sheet → longitudinal and transverse stretching (orientation) at 150–170°C → winding. Biaxial orientation increases strength by 5–7 times and transparency up to 92%. Types: transparent (for lamination, tape, packaging), matte, pearlescent, metallized (Al coating 40–60 nm — barrier to oxygen and moisture), white opaque (for labels). Thickness 15–50 µm. Heat-sealable (co-ex with EVA layer) and non-sealable. GOST 24234-80. BOPP film for tape: transparent 25–30 µm with acrylic adhesive layer — transparent and brown tape (packaging tape). For lamination: applied to paper/cardboard by hot or cold method — provides gloss, protection from moisture and abrasion. Pearlescent (pearl): pearl luster effect for premium packaging of candies, cosmetics, gifts. White opaque (void): for wrap-around labels (beer, beverages). Documentation: TDS, quality certificate, food safety certificate.
