Bleached Softwood Kraft Pulp (BSKP) is a base raw material for the paper and cardboard industry. The long fibers of softwood pulp (2–4 mm, spruce and pine) provide paper strength in terms of tensile, tear, and burst resistance. Whiteness ≥88% (ISO 2470). Bleaching methods: ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) or TCF (Total Chlorine Free) — environmentally friendly methods without elemental chlorine. Delignification degree: kappa number 16–20 before bleaching, <2 after. Applications: writing and office paper (mixed with hardwood pulp), tissue (napkins, toilet paper), liquid packaging board (Tetra Pak), filter paper, high-whiteness kraft sacks. Supply form: sheets (bales 200–250 kg, 800×600 mm, wrapped in kraft paper), rolls (for large consumers). GOST 9571-89. Kraft (sulfate) cooking: wood chips are cooked in a solution of NaOH + Na₂S at 170°C — lignin dissolves, cellulose fibers are released. Yield: 45–50% of wood mass. ECF bleaching: Cl₂ is replaced by ClO₂ — reduces dioxin formation in effluents. Major Russian producers: Arkhangelsk PPM, Kotlas PPM, Syktyvkar LPK (Mondi), Svetogorsk (International Paper). Documentation: CoA (Certificate of Analysis), phytosanitary certificate.
