Birch Lumber Blanks (Boards & Bars)
Birch blanks (Betula pendula, B. pubescens) are kiln-dried hardwood lumber for furniture, joinery, and plywood production. Birch is the primary hardwood species of the Russian timber industry: density 600–650 kg/m³, Brinell hardness 3.5, high impact strength. Light, uniform texture without pronounced grain ensures good adhesion for painting and staining. High workability — milling, turning, face gluing. Typical cross-sections: thickness 25–50 mm, width 50–200 mm, length 500–3000 mm (short lengths are in demand). Moisture content KD 8–10%. Grading according to GOST 2695-83 — presence of knots, false heartwood, discoloration. Regions: Central Federal District, Urals, Vologda, Kostroma. Applications: solid wood furniture production (chairs, tables, beds), furniture panels, stair treads, countertops, parquet boards, veneer, turned products (tool handles, rolling pins, spindles), cutting boards, wooden toys. Birch wood accepts stains well and imitates valuable species (walnut, cherry, rosewood). Factory sanding up to 120 grit. Face gluing with D3/D4 PVA glue. Export: China (Guangdong furniture factories), Vietnam, Europe. Export documentation: phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin. Packaging: packs on spacers, shrink film. Shipment: 20/40 ft containers.
