Birch Edge-Glued Panel / Furniture Board
Birch furniture panel is a glued board made from birch lamellas, edge-glued with water-resistant D3/D4 adhesive. Surface is sanded. Thickness: 18, 20, 26, 30, 40 mm. Dimensions: 600×2000–3000 mm and custom sizes. Solid lamella panel (grade A/B) — made from solid slats without finger-jointing along the length, featuring beautiful natural grain. Finger-jointed panel (grade B/C) — lamellas are connected via finger joints, more economical. Birch panel is stronger and harder than softwood, with a pronounced light grain. Moisture content 8–10%. Finishing: varnish, oil-wax, tinting. Applications: countertops, window sills, stair treads, shelves, wall panels, cabinet furniture. GOST 2695-83. Production technology: drying lamellas to 8% → calibration → defect rejection → edge glue application → pressing in a clamp → curing → calibration sanding → finish sanding 120 grit → packaging. D3 adhesive — water-resistant (withstands short-term water contact). D4 — high water resistance (for bathrooms, kitchens). Birch furniture panel in hardness (3.5 HB) is comparable to oak (3.7 HB) but costs 30–40% less. Export: Europe, China, Middle East. Export documentation: phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin. Packaging: pallets, cardboard spacers, strapping tape.
